The 80x20mm FR-4 UHF RFID On-Metal Tag is a rigid industrial RFID tag designed for asset identification and tracking directly on metal surfaces. Its 80x20mm format and FR-4 fiberglass construction provide a durable platform for equipment, machinery, metal containers, warehouse assets, production fixtures, and other metallic items where standard UHF labels can suffer from severe RF detuning.
Operating in the 860-960MHz UHF band under EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO/IEC 18000-6C, the tag uses an Impinj M830 RFID chip for serialized asset identification and compatible UHF RFID workflows. The dedicated on-metal antenna structure is designed to use the metallic mounting surface as part of the RF environment, providing more stable performance than conventional non-metal UHF tags when installed correctly.
Actual read performance depends on reader output power, antenna gain and polarization, tag orientation, mounting position, metal surface size and shape, and the surrounding environment. This larger 80x20mm format is suitable for applications where read-range margin is more important than minimizing tag size. Performance should be validated on the actual asset before deployment. Custom services include industrial adhesive backing, laser-engraved UID or serial numbers, EPC encoding, and custom mounting-hole configurations.
